8am, this is your city.
You capture its rain-soaked corners,
its unbeaten domes.
You immortalise the rich, the poor, the wild
and the woman picking her nose.
You're the one who sees the heartshaped
cracks in the pavement, the river's
dirty glows, the buskers
and the cafes, shadows, glimmers.
Your camera's your ticket, and this
is your city: the bankers, the stars,
the fashion student's oversized eyelash -
you seize the day with a click
and a flash.
